  Born and raised to the age of 15 in the Soviet Union, when Nadia's gift manifested her parents panicked as they had settled themselves as a 'mutant opposing family' shortly after the battle involving two warring groups of mutants. Fearing for their own lives, the family would pack up their meager belongings and shipped off to America, gaining citizenship without a hitch.
  But nothing good lasts forever as was shown when Nadia's mother caught ill and passed away a week after obtaining their own home in a less than respectable neighborhood. After the death, Nadia, her younger sisters and elder brother were left alone with their highly abusive father.
  After a night of booze drinking, Nadia's highly intoxicated father became angry when she tried to enter his dreams and attempted to kill her with serrated kitchen knife. The attempt failed, but to save himself Nadia was never taken into the E.R. and was thus left with disfiguring scars across her shoulders.
  Another year of physical and mental abuse would pass until protective services were called in to investigate the growing number of bruises and cuts on the young girl's body. Finally deciding he tired of legal business, her father dumped her off at the one place he knew would want her and not care.
  Left penniless and without a personal item to her name, Nadia was forced to start a new life without any love or family in a world of pure grey.
